Second Day in Monterrico

Second Day in Monterrico ( Tuesday )
Today, I just stayed at the beach for the day, there is not too much going on this town, this is a place to come and just go the beach and walk around town, I did all this in about 1 1/2 hour. The rest of the time is just stay at the hotel chilling.
I walked around town, I went to ferry location where I will transport my truck to the other side of town, because here is the end of the road, unless you want to go back and drive one hour and half, so there is not too many choices for me, so tomorrow morning I am leaving this town and go to cross the border into El Salvador.

Also I met another traveller from Taipei, But He is taking the bus from place to place, We talk for a while at the hotel about all the things we have seem on the road and his country he will be going to all Central America and some countries in South America as well. So folks that was my day.

From Guatemala City to Antigua

From Guatemala city to Antigua ( saturday )
It was a short day for me today I only drove 56 miles, This morning went to Palin, a little town about 20 minutes south from Guatemala city, But there is nothing to see in that town, But I needed to go there to see a friend of mine that I met in Orlando a few years ago who happens to be the brother of a friend of mine also, I wanted to stop by and say hello but I found out that he was out town for a few weeks. So I decided to drive to Antigua a city that is about 25 minutes from Palin and Guatemala City, I got there around 1:00pm. I went right away to find a place to stay and I found a little hotel called Hotel Dionisos, This is very clean everywhere it has a kitchen as well and it has WI-FI and it is in the middle of town with a small parking. After all this I went to see the town, first I went to the little market and right next to it there is a artisan market so between the two you can spend a lot of time just looking around to find the best deals, Then I went to DownTown where I walked for a couple of hours, this town is just what I was expecting because I read about it and I can say that I am very pleased coming here, I highly recommend it.

It was a short day for me I only drove about 126 miles to the city of Guatemala, the roads were not good in many section on the trip and it took me longer to get to my destination, there was not too much to see around the towns I found along the way, It was like a 3 hours drive for 126 miles, I got a little late there I think it was about 5:00pm. I drove to Palin to check it before I comeback tomorrow to look for my friend and then I drove back to my hotel and stayed there until it was time for me to leave the next day.

From Mexico Border to Panajachel

From the Border to Panajachel ( Thursday )
Today I crossed the border into Guatemala, it was really easy, I didn't have any problems at all from the Guatemalan authorities, from the border I drove all the way until I got to Panajachel, I got there early, I found a place to stay and I went out to see the town, from I saw it looks good, like in Mexico there are a lot of Artisans showing the crafts, painting, sculptures. In general it is a very nice town to stay a few days. One more thing about the border crossing; It costed $18 Quetzals to get my truck spray, and $160 Quetzals to get the permit for the truck.
